I for one like this kind of gameplay, but those who have never really been into things like God of War, Devil May Cry will probably find this game does not click for them. You talk to characters, go to different areas, and so on so there is a great deal to keep you busy in this game. So pretty recently, a game called Cinderella Escape 2 Revenge was released and it looks pretty great, but then I found the first game was also on sale, and its actually a pretty good puzzle game with puzzles you actually have to think through to get past. The game is around 12 hours long to beat it and while I would say the majority of the game is fighting. However, it is the execution that is so much fun, unleashing massive combos and taking down tons of enemies at a time is mindless, but also a whole lot of fun. So, there is not a ton of things thrown your way. You have a couple of attacks, a parry, a dash, and a super move. This is like a God of War style game where it is all about the hack and slash action. It was really the gameplay that kept me hooked while I was playing Cinderella Escape 2 Revenge. The story sounds crazy, but it is really fun and I never felt lost despite not playing the first game. There is another plot going on with this bad character called Vanessa who has these “dolls” that have become kind of self-aware. The story is awesome and it features characters such as Pinocchio and Snow White as well which is really cool.
